Family-Friendly Bedroom Refresh in North Jersey

Designing a home for a growing family means creating spaces that are both functional and beautiful. This project included transforming a nursery into a sweet twin girls’ room, refreshing a toddler’s bedroom, and designing a serene primary retreat for two new mamas—perfect for unwinding after long days with three little ones under three.

For the twin girls, the goal was a calm, playful space they could grow into. Soft pink tones and boho rainbow decals set the backdrop, while cozy layers made the room feel warm and welcoming.

The toddler bedroom needed to be whimsical yet practical. A neutral wall color provides longevity, while daisy decals and ceramic flower knobs on the IKEA furniture add a touch of fun and personality. A cozy reading nook, plenty of space for play, and even a giant teddy bear make it the ultimate “big girl” room.

For the primary bedroom, we focused on creating a retreat for the mamas. Rich navy walls anchor the space with a sense of calm, while a grasscloth wallpaper accent wall brings texture and dimension. Layered bedding, a patterned rug, and furniture with warm brass and wood accents strike the perfect balance between cozy and sophisticated. The result is a peaceful, modern sanctuary—proof that parents deserve their own haven just as much as the kids.
